Cobalt is a trace mineral, which means that it is
required by the body in minute amounts. However, it performs a number of
very important functions. Cobalt helps to repair the myelin sheath, which
surrounds the nerves. Autoimmune disorders damage this tissue. Therefore,
cobalt is very useful for those who suffer from such diseases.
Vegetarians do not always get enough Vitamin B12 from their diet. In those
who follow a standard Western diet, absorption may be compromised if there
is a cobalt deficiency. Cobalt is needed to absorb vitamin B12. One of the
sequelae of cobalt deficiency is that one can end up with a hormonal
imbalance. This is because there is a reduction in cobalamin. When one has
a sufficient supply of folic acid, this can hide a cobalt deficiency.
When supplementing with folic acid it is important to also supplement with
vitamin B12 and with cobalt. The reason vegetarians need this particular
vitamin and mineral is that green vegetables are rich in folic acid and as
mentioned it masks the B12 shortage. The consequences of this can be dire
as irreparable nerve damage can happen because of the vitamin B12
deficiency.
Red blood cells are where the cobalt is stored. Lesser amounts of this
reside in the spleen, pancreas, liver and the kidneys. Cobalt is
instrumental in transporting glucose from the blood into the cells of the
body. It helps to build the red blood cells and assimilates the building
of the red blood cells. This mineral stimulates many bodily enzymes and
cell function is normalized in as well.
There are multitudes of life threatening conditions that can occur in the
absence of cobalt in the body. Nerve damage, retarded rate of growing,
damage to the Myelin sheath, insufficient circulation, fatigue, pernicious
anemia and digestive disorders are among the conditions that cobalt
deficiency may cause.
The interaction between vitamin B, iron and cobalt works very well for the
body. The size and charge of a particle is referred to as ionized. When
true ionization is present then this is measured in angstroms. This is ten
thousand times smaller than colloidal mineral. There is no charge unique
to mineral; once they have ionized then they do have a unique charge. This
is critical in order for the body to absorb.
In most cases, the body is only able to absorb between five to twenty
percent of nutritional products. This means that effectually eighty
percent of what is placed in the body is wasted. This represents a massive
waste of money.
Ionic minerals are reportedly one hundred percent bio available. This
means that they are ready to be absorbed right away. The moment the
minerals are exposed to bodily tissue, the process of absorption begins.
Storing or toxicity in the cells does not happen. This is because the
minerals are easily absorbed. The body does not store any of this that is
not used is excreted right away.
The body is more intelligent than people give it credit for or than people
may realize. The body understands what is good for it and what is bad for
it. It is even able to distinguish between what is moderately good for it
and what is exceptionally good for it. It differentiates by priority and
degree. If the body does not receive what it should then it will
substitute to the best of its ability. This can be problematic as it can
weaken tissues, cells, cause toxicity, and damage to the body.
The way around this is to add exceptional nutrients to your diet. The body
will then release these substitutes and replace them with better
components. Therefore, by adding cobalt supplements to the diet the body
will be able to start repairing naturally.
