Did prophet Muhammad know where sun goes at night?

“Narrated Abu Dhar: The Prophet asked me at sunset, "Do you know where the sun goes (at the time of sunset)?" I replied, "Allah and His Apostle know better." He said, "It goes (i.e. travels) till it prostrates Itself underneath the Throne and takes the permission to rise again, and it is permitted and then (a time will come when) it will be about to prostrate itself but its prostration will not be accepted, and it will ask permission to go on its course but it will not be permitted, but it will be ordered to return whence it has come and so it will rise in the west.” [Sahih Al Bukhari, Volume 4, Book 54, Number 421].

From this ridiculous so-called authentic hadith it is narrated that due to sun’s movement day and night alters!! Without any doubt modern science proves that it is not the sun but due to the spin motion of the earth day and night alters. How do so-called authentic hadiths spoil and ridicule the great religion Islam as if Islam is a religion from out of ignorance!

Allah(God) never sends any prophets or messengers as scientists or inventors. They have only one duty and that is to deliver God’s messages to humans which one can be found in God’s scriptures. Therefore whether prophet Muhammad knew or not where sun goes at night does not matter at all.

But it is relevant to see if there is any statement related to sun’s movement in the holy Quran. It must be noted that the holy Quran is not a science book. The main objective of the holy Quran is not to teach science but to teach what the duties of humans toward God and morality are. However, God kindly provides so many scientific facts in the holy Quran just as signs and stamp as God’s book for modern people.

I have found one of the great miracles of the holy Quran(Koran) is the sun related verses. Many places Allah mentions about the sun and surprisingly this ancient book never makes a single mistake related to sun and its movement! Whereas, during that time so many superstitions were established about the sun and the moon. Yes, this another powerful proof that indeed the holy Quran comes from the Lord of the universe Who knows where sun goes at night.

Just as samples I would like to present here two noble Quranic verses in this regard which are not only fully conform the modern science but also present as great miracle of the holy Quran which was revealed 1400+ years ago.

[The Quran 14:33] He has committed the sun and the moon in your service, continuously. He has committed the night and the day to serve you.

[The Quran 21:33] And He is the One who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon; each floating in its own orbit.

Praise be to Allah(God), the Lord of the Universe.
