Salam.
Undoubtedly, there is one
Quran which is in Arabic.
The reason of revealing the
message of God in Arabic so
that the Arabian Prophet can
understand God's message.
There is no other special
reason. The Quran is the
message, not the Arabic
message.
[12:2] We have revealed it
an Arabic Quran, that you
may understand
It is important to
understand the message. So,
what does it mean by reading
or reciting the Quran? We
need to study the Quran.
[4:82] Why do they not study
the Quran carefully? If it
were from other than GOD,
they would have found in it
numerous contradictions.
God created all languages.
Is language important to
God?! Absolutely not!
[41:44] If we made it a
non-Arabic Quran they would
have said, "Why did it come
down in that language?"
Whether it is Arabic or
non-Arabic, say, "For those
who believe, it is a guide
and healing. As for those
who disbelieve, they will be
deaf and blind to it, as if
they are being addressed
from faraway."
Reading, understanding and
following the message of the
Quran is important.
The majority of us do not
know the message of the
Quran even though we
read it in Arabic! The
majority of us are like
donkey. So, there is crisis
in the Muslim world.
[62:5] The example of those
who were given the Torah,
then failed to uphold it, is
like the donkey carrying
great works of literature.
Miserable indeed is the
example of people who
rejected GOD's revelations.
GOD does not guide the
wicked people.
Thank you and may God guide
me,

Subject: Is it
compulsory to read Quran in
Arabic / comment
Dear Irtaza,
I'm sorry but I disagree
with the statement that it
is sufficient to read the
Quran in a language other
than Arabic. It is because
the translation is a human
rendering and is not divine.
But the Quran is divine
and was revealed in the
Arabic language.
Therefore, IMO, it is indeed
compulsory for a believer in
the Quran to read the Quran
in Arabic WITH
understanding. If therefore
follows it is compulsory to
learn Quranic Arabic
comprehension before one can
learn Islam or can even
preach Islam to others.
Sincerely,
Munir

Salam.
No where
in the
Quran it
states
that it
is
compulsory
to read
Quran in
Arabic.
God
created
all
languages
not
just Arabic.
[30:22]
Among
His
proofs
are the
creation
of the
heavens
and the
earth,
and the
variations
in your
languages
and your
colors.
In
these,
there
are
signs
for the
knowledgeable.
God's
blessing
does not
come by
just
reading
the
Quran,
but it
comes by
understanding
it, and
accepting
its
message.
The
Quran is
a
message,
not just
another
beautiful
language
book God
sends
down to
us for
entertainment.
The
Quran
gives
the
reason
two
times
why the
Quran
was
revealed
in
Arabic
to an
Arabian
Prophet!
[12:2]
We have
revealed
it an
Arabic
Quran,
that you
may
understand.
[43:3]
We have
rendered
it an
Arabic
Quran,
that you
may
understand.
The
above
two
verses
imply
clearly
that we
need to
read and
understand
the
Quran.
Blind
faith
does not
reside
in the
heart of
Islam.
God does
not
expect
us to
read the
Quran in
Arabic
and
believe
in it
without
understanding
it as we
learn
from the
following.
[26:192]
This is
a
revelation
from the
Lord of
the
universe.
[26:193]
The
Honest
Spirit
(Gabriel)
came
down
with it.
[26:194]
To
reveal
it into
your
heart,
that you
may be
one of
the
warners.
[26:195]
In a
perfect
Arabic
tongue.
[26:196]
It has
been
prophesied
in the
books of
previous
generations.
[26:197]
Is it
not a
sufficient
sign for
them
that it
was
known to
the
scholars
among
the
Children
of
Israel?
[26:198]
If we
revealed
this to
people
who do
not know
Arabic.
[26:199]
And had
him
recite
it (in
Arabic),
they
could
not
possibly
believe
in it.
[26:200]
We thus
render
it (like
a
foreign
language)
in the
hearts
of the
guilty.
What
good is
it to
read the
Quran in
Arabic
like a
parrot
without
understanding
its
meanings
or like
a donkey
carrying
valuable
books!?
[62:5]
The
example
of those
who were
given
the
Torah,
then
failed
to
uphold
it, is
like the
donkey
carrying
great
works of
literature.
Miserable
indeed
is the
example
of
people
who
rejected
GOD's
revelations.

not

the
wicked
people.
