[Sahih Al-Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 71, Number 592] Narrated Abu Huraira: I
heard Allah's Apostle saying, "There is healing in black cumin for all
diseases except death."
Absolutely nonsense! It is as if, we don’t need to do any research in
medical science! All we need is black cumin. Whatever diseases we may suffer
from doesn’t matter! We just need to eat black cumin and all diseases will
be cured! So let us test this Sahih hadith just for some very common
diseases such as, common cold, diarrhea, etc. let alone, for cancers,
Hydrophobia, HIV etc. Will this hadith withstand in such common test?! It
should be noted, we are very aware that some foods/vegetables/spices could
have special health and medical benefits such as garlic could reduce the
risk of heart attack, ginger can help for common cold, turmeric has
anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties etc. So, it is very possible that
black cumin could have few medical benefits but what this hadith is saying
is really laughable!! We don’t think Prophet Muhammad said so. Prophet
Muhammad definitely said:
[The Quran 77:50] Which Hadith, other than this
(the Quran), do they uphold?
